More than 50 Beef Producers Attended the 2013 Illinois Cattle Feeders Meeting
More than 50 Illinois beef producers attended the 2013 Illinois Cattle Feeders Meeting at Ogle County Farm Bureau in Oregon IL.
During the day-long event attendees received information on the cattle feeding such as the advantages of alkali treatment of crop residues from Mike Cecava Director ADM Research Division new information on consumer beef preferences by Dr. Mark McCully of the Certified Angus Beef and an industry outlook presentation from Dr. Paul Peterson professor at University of Illinois.
A highlight of the event was a very informative (and humorous) presentation on stockmanship and low-stress cattle handling in monoslope beef barns and other CAFO’s by Dr. Ron Gill of Texas A & M.
Summit Livestock Facilities was pleased to be a sponsor of the event along with ADM the Illinois Beef Association and the University of Illinois Extension.
“Stay tuned” to this blog page for more events we are sponsoring with the Illinois Beef Association and other cattlemen’s groups in 2013.
