David Rydberg Featured on America Needs Farmers Website
We’re delighted to notice that Summit Livestock Facilities customer David Rydberg of Essex Iowa has been featured as one of Iowa’s more progressive farmers on the America Needs Farmers website in support of the ANF promotion: the Great Grocery Give-A-Way.
America Needs Farmers (ANF) is producer support initiative of the Iowa Farm Bureau and the University of Iowa Athletics Department. The ANF is dedicated to informing consumers about agriculture.
The ANF got its start back in the farm crisis of the 1980s when then University of Iowa head football coach Hayden Fry saw how that dismal farm economy was touching the lives of many of his players and most of the fans.
Never one to accept defeat Fry quietly went to work on a plan to raise awareness of farmers who were struggling. He developed a simple but powerful message to support Iowa farmers; a message that would be delivered on a national stage by his winning team – America Needs Farmers.
Then he put a small ANF decal on the player's helmets and the rest is history!
Today the ANF continues to support farmers through events like the ANF Game Day which promotes the Great Grocery Give-A-Way.
At Summit we’re proud and pleased that our friend David Rydberg is playing a big part of the ANF’s outreach to educate consumers about American agriculture.
