It provides the production capacity needed to achieve a sustainable level of farm income for many producers. Check out the floor plans below.
Illinois Producers: Optimize your building investment. The Summit 299-Head barn provides the required 60-day manure storage for Illinois producers with fewer than 300 steers in confinement and qualifying acres in a Manure Management Plan.
What are the advantages of a Summit 299-Head Barn?
Improve cattle health: Providing a more comfortable, predictable environment for your cattle means less stress and fewer immunity issues. You’ll catch health issues earlier to better manage animal care.
Optimize rate of gain: You can better monitor feeding patterns, which helps reduce waste and creates a better feed efficiency and rate of gain for increased profit potential.
Indoor feeding: Summit monoslope beef barns provide excellent ventilation and year-round cattle comfort. In winter, cattle bask in the warmth of the sun. In summer, they’re cooled by southerly breezes and protected from the hot sun.
Reduce feed cost and time on feed: Bringing your beef cattle inside a monoslope building adds a new level of convenience, accessibility and profitability. You can better monitor feeding patterns, which helps reduce waste. By designing your building for more efficient workflows, you can improve your employees’ performance as well.
Three floor plan Options: The Summit 299-head monoslope beef barn package can be sized to provide feeding facilities for herds up to 299 fat cattle. Our three sample building floor plans show layouts with manure storage, and all of them offer year-round cattle comfort and health, feed efficiency and rate of gain. Don’t forget, all three design options meet the Illinois Department of Agriculture 60-day manure requirements for 299 head – a great option for Illinois producers!
299 Select: Our most economical option for a 299-head facility, the “Select” barn includes 4 bed-pack style pens on aglime or a similar floor material (not concrete). Concrete “coffin block” walls separate pens. There is a concrete scraping area to the south of the bed pack, a feed bunk and two shared Cancrete brand drinkers. Gate swing is designed for easy cattle flow to and from the working area, as well as the loading and receiving area (not shown). The feed lane is gravel. This barn offers optimal sunlight benefits and ventilation for maximum cattle health and feed efficiency.
299 Choice: The “Choice” barn is designed to provide the additional benefits of the “Select” barn with the added benefit of poured concrete walls and a concrete floor in the bed pack area for ease of scraping and longevity. The feed lane is gravel.
299 Prime: The “Prime” barn was designed with a manure bay and full concrete floor. Included are all the benefits of the “Choice” barn. In addition, the feed lane is concrete, and a fence and gating are added to better facilitate the flow of cattle to and from the pens and the working area (working area is not shown).
